 CORPOLIBERO (FREEBODY) (1996-1997)

A award winner long-term photographic inquiry on the world of handicap produced betwenn 1996 and 1997 in Italy inside Institutions where people with disabilities live their ordinary life and where we could be inspired by sinply watching them. But we need more tha that.

An hommage to the work of Diane Arbus, one of Fiorese’s most admired authors in the history of Photogrpahy.

It wasn’t them who asked to come into this world, still they’re here among us; they are to be recognized in a code no one has ever written: if you offend one of them, all of them will feel offended”.

Un corpo di lavoro a lungo termine, premiato internazionalmente, che diventa un’indagine sul mondo dell’Handicap. Prodotto in Italia dal 1996 al 1997 affronta la vita delle persomne con gravi disabilità all’interno di Istituti in cui chiunque potrebbe trarre ispirazione anche semplicemente osservando. Ma c’è bisogno di più.

Un omaggio al lavoro di Diane Arbus, una delle autrici della Storia della Fotografia più ammirate da Fiorese.

“…voi, voi ne avete riso o provato ribrezzo tuttavia se lo avesse voluto la natura beffarda anche voi potreste essere come loro. Non hanno chiesto loro di venire a questo mondo eppure sono qui tra noi; si riconoscono in un codice che nessuno ha mai scritto: offendetene uno e si sentiranno offesi tutti quanti”.
